Luisa Lodevole

Luisa Lodevole is Lecturer in Philosophy of Law, Bio-law and Legal informatics by the Department of Law, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. She is enrolled in the Bar Association of Rome, in the special register of university professors, and practiced as a lawyer especially in the fields of civil law, commercial law, labour law, and as a consultant for institutes of higher education, as well as associations engaged in the promotion of child safety and protection in the digital world.

In 2002 she graduated in Law, by the University of Rome “La Sapienza”; in 2005 she achieved a Master’s degree in Bioethics by the Pontifical Institute John Paul II and in 2007 a Master’s degree in Bioethics and Education by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. From 2011 to 2013 was Visiting PhD at the University of Vienna, Faculty of Law, Institut von Rechtsphilosophie, Religions- und Kulturrecht, and in 2014 she obtained her PhD by the University of Rome Tor Vergata in “History and Theory of European Law” with a dissertation on the legal protection of embryos.
From 2021 to 2024 she taught Human Rights in Spanish as a Supplementary Course in Foreign Language. From 2009 to 2020 she taught “Bioethics”, “The marriage in the Italian civil code”, “Family policies and religious freedom” in the Diploma of Family pastoral care by the Pontifical Institute John Paul II; in 2018 she taught “The marriage in Civil Law” by the Master course in Family Counselling by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. From 2006 to 2008 she taught “Bio-law” in the Master course of Clinical Bioethics by the Faculty of Medicine, University “La Sapienza”.
She is author of the monograph “Abandoned Embryos” and of various scientific works about Philosophy of Law, Bio-law and Legal Informatics. She is member of the Center for Legal Studies “For-with-of Women”. She is member of the Editorial Team of the Review “Christianity, World, Politics”, directed by the University Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in Warsaw (Poland).
