
Suzanne Mulrain
Suzanne holds a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. After the closure of the Doctoral Program at The John Paul II Institute for the Studies of Marriage and Family in Australia, Suzanne is completing her Doctorate in Theology at Pontifiex University.
She served in Administration and leadership of business operations’ roles at two Behavioral Healthcare Centers where she and the Medical Director successfully launched a multi-state continuing medical education program for Physicians, Nurses, and Psychological Counselors to learn how to identify and address alcohol and drug abuse proactively early in their patient population, earn professional credits, and respond to the national crisis.
In 2018, Suzanne was appointed to the Administration of the Graduate School of Theological Studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. In collaboration with the Dean, they created and launched a new online Master of Arts degree in Theology, 3 credit courses offered to students in Catholic High Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, an Adult Faith Formation program at the request of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and a new Spiritual Accompaniment Certificate program created by the Spiritual Director of the Seminary for 2024.
Suzanne has co-authored two book chapters: “The Formation of Seminarians in Celibate Chastity” with Robert L. Fastiggi in Clerical Sexual Misconduct: An Interdisciplinary Analysis; as well as “Affective Maturity and Its Importance for Seminary Formation” with Monsignor Michael Magee in Clerical Sexual Misconduct: Volume 2: A Foundational Conversation.
Her other co-authored work is titled: “Sharing a Spirit of Discernment: Recommendations from Women Faculty at American Seminaries to Presidents of Episcopal Conferences and Bishops of the United States” with Susan Selner-Wright, Janet Smith, Deborah Savage, Theresa Farnan in Clerical Sexual Misconduct: An Interdisciplinary Analysis, p. 383.
Suzanne’s article was also featured in Inside the Vatican Magazine: “The Anthropological and Spiritual Primacy of Consecrated Celibate Chastity in the Lives of Seminarians and Priests.”
Since 2016, Suzanne has been a member of the Catholic Women’s Forum of The Ethics and Public Policy Center, located in Washington DC.
